Student Mobility Guide – In

The ways for student mobility available for the undergraduate and graduate student bodies are diverse. The necessity of operational procedures for each one of these possibilities is evident. On this guide we present the situations regarding the mobility IN, applicable to students from other institutions who wish to come to UFBA. In a similar way, information for students from UFBA, who wish to participate on a mobility program at other institutions, is available on the Student Mobility Guide – OUT.

 

1) Undergraduate Students who come to UFBA to fulfill mobility programs.

 

I)       Students from partner universities.

i)         Apply together with the AAI-UFBA.

ii)       Plan the curricular components that will be fulfilled at UFBA.

iii)     Wait for the confirmation of the study program acceptance by UFBA and proceed with the necessary adjustments, in case the original request is not accepted.

iv)     Show up at the AAI, after the arrival in Salvador, for documentation and student visa verification, and enrollment confirmation.

v)       Inform the AAI about the expected date of return to the home country.

vi)     School records will be provided after the conclusion of the mobility period. The student will be able to receive them directly at UFBA or, in case he/she is not in Brazil anymore, the records will be sent through mail.

 

II)    Students from universities with no partnership.

i)         Apply together with the AAI-UFBA.

ii)       Plan the curricular components that will be fulfilled at UFBA.

iii)     Wait for the confirmation of the study program acceptance by UFBA and proceed with the necessary adjustments, in case the original request is not accepted.

iv)     Show up at the AAI, after the arrival in Salvador, for documentation and student visa verification, and enrollment confirmation.

v)       Inform the AAI about the expected date of return to the home country.

vi)     School records will be provided after the conclusion of the mobility period. The student will be able to receive them directly at UFBA or, in case he/she is not in Brazil anymore, the records will be sent through mail.

 

III) Students from the PEC-G program.

i)         Apply together with the Brazilian Embassy at the home country.

ii)       Wait for the program’s confirmation of acceptance, with indication of UFBA as the institution where the program will be fulfilled.

iii)     Show up at PROAE, after the arrival in Salvador, for the verification of documentation, student visa, etc.

iv)     Show up at the corresponding Course Collegiate for enrollment.

v)       Show up at the AAI, for record purposes.

 

2) Graduate students who come to UFBA to fulfill mobility programs.

 

I)       Students for sandwich program

i)         Once enrolled to the graduate course at an institution abroad, make contact with the supervisor at UFBA, with or without intervention of the course collegiate, setting issues like equivalence between the programs, term and workload expected for the course, theme of the dissertation/thesis, period of stay at UFBA and abroad, funding of stay, etc.

ii)       Submit the project of the sandwich program to the approval by the Course Collegiate, then send it to the PROPG and AAI, for record.

iii)     Develop, with the Collegiate’s supervision, the expected activities for the signed agreement, paying attention to the compliance with the expected periods of stay for abroad and for UFBA, effecting enrollment at UFBA, even during the periods of stay abroad.

 

II)    Students for thesis joint degree (cotutelle) programs

i)         Once enrolled to the graduate course at an institution abroad, make contact with the supervisor at UFBA, with or without intervention of the course collegiate, setting issues like equivalence between the programs, term and workload expected for the course, theme of the dissertation/thesis, period of stay at UFBA and abroad, funding of stay, etc.

ii)       Prepare an individual joint agreement, having necessarily a Portuguese language version, that is in accordance with the Resolution 01/2006 of the Câmara de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação da UFBA.

iii)     Submit the agreement for approval and signature by the competent authorities abroad.

iv)     Send the agreement for processing among the different entities at UFBA. The process is started at the Collegiate responsible for the course, which should approve it and then forward it to PROPG and AAI, for verification, record and apposition of the Rector’s signature, and later return of a properly signed copy to the institution.

v)       Develop, with the Collegiate’s supervision, the expected activities for the signed agreement, paying attention to the compliance with the expected periods of stay for abroad and for UFBA, effecting enrollment at UFBA, even during the periods of stay abroad.

vi)     Submit and defend the dissertation/thesis within the time limit, which shall be composed in accordance with the rules of the Resolution 01/2006.

vii)   Inform SUPAC, AAI and CCCONV about the conclusion of the joint agreement program, for record purposes.

viii) Request the emission of the two certificates, by each one of the institutions.

 

III) Students from the PEC-PG program

i)         Apply together with the Brazilian Embassy at the home country.

ii)       Wait for the program’s confirmation of acceptance, with indication of UFBA as the institution where the program will be fulfilled.

iii)     Show up at PROPG, after the arrival in Salvador, for the verification of documentation, student visa, etc.

iv)     Show up at the corresponding Course Collegiate for enrollment.

v)       Show up at the AAI, for record purposes.

 

IV) Foreign students who plead to carry out the complete Graduate course at UFBA.

i)         Apply together with the corresponding Graduate program.

ii)       Wait for the result of the program’s selection process.

iii)     Show up at the AAI for verification of documentation, student visa, etc.

iv)     Show up at the corresponding Course Collegiate for enrollment.
